Tips For Family Day Trips

By Poppy Hill

Heading out for the day on your rental van then remembering to pack a few things to tide you over on your journey would be ideal. The usual when packing you either do not take enough items with you or you pack too many clothes and end up not wearing have as much as you take. A good tip would be to bring with you as many items as you can to keep them amused for the length of time you are in the car.

Favorite toys are a must when travelling by car as it not only amuses the children but keeps them from annoying the driver when they are trying to drive. The made up car games become tiresome after a while with the nursery songs and games so pack their favourite books and colouring pencils which will keep them amused for a long time.

Food and drink is important during the journey in case anyone becomes dehydrated. Carrying a small water bottle around with when you finally stop and visit a park or forest trails are essential. Depending on whether you have planned a picnic and a few snacks for the day out or are going to a restaurant at the end of your trip a good idea would be to pack small snacks to keep you going through out the day which may include fruit or savoury snacks such as salted peanuts.

Packing extra items are important when travelling as you never know what to expect. Nappies and diaper are always a must as well as soap which now comes in a gel liquid and does not require water. Remember and take some bags with you to place any dog mess or soiled nappies inside them until you are to place them in a bin. First aid kits are now being sold in a suitable package for you to buy.

Leaving the children to their own devices around streams and pools and rivers is never a good idea as they could easily fall into the river and be covered from head to foot in slime and mud resulting a definite change of clothes. Pack also a light jumper as the weather may change suddenly when you are out and about.

Thinking about where you are going and the weather for the day will help you overcome many problems.
