Summertime In Devon With Your Dog

By Poppy Hill

Down in the south of England the area is also known as the English Riviera. Devon is famous for its cream tea and cricket matches but also lots of lovely walks to take your dog on with you for company. Endless forest and beach walks which can all be enjoyed by both of you and will sure to tire out even the most energetic of puppies.

Have you visited Dartmoor before? Not only home to the Navy cadets but also a fab train ride down from Paignton then a short hop over on a ferry to Dartmoor itself. Normally in the summer the moor will be a wash with holiday makers walking their dogs on the moors or stopping off at a local pub for a pint on the way home. Dogs are a British way of life and are seen often outside local shops around the Devon villages.

Being beside a beach in the English summer months will be beneficial to you as you can take your dog a walk any time of day down south as the evenings will still be light enough for a late stroll. You may find some restrictions in the summer time for pets on certain beaches for the most they are welcome in and around most of Devon's beaches.

Look out for the signs either upon arrival or online by searching through the websites which allow pets to stay with you while you are on holiday accommodation. Sometimes the web page will ask you if you wish to bring a pet with you to their rooms.

Last but not least the Devon and Cornwall pub is an ideal place for you to stop by and enjoy a pub meal and a drink with your dog which can stay by your side in the cold autumn days by the fire or splash around in the lake side pub cooling down in the hot summer months.
