Safety For When Travelling As A Young Person

By Poppy Hill

Teenagers when leaving home for their first holiday away from home often think of partying to the small hours of the morning with consumption of alcohol high on the list.

Keeping themselves safe and out of harms way is often not on their minds as this will probably be their only taste of being on their own without their families to support them. Over on one of the Greek islands during the summer time a young English boy died on a night out with his friends after they were caught up in a fight. I am sure you don't want the same thing to happen to you or your buddies so here are a small number of hints to keep you safe.

Back in the good old days when you first started school and older child was chosen as your buddy to keep you safe and show you around the school. Like wise when you are older and on holiday keep the same rule as this is a proven method of working for young adults on holidays. Bottom line is stay and leave together no matter where the party has been thrown.

Select a meeting point in a bar or a club before you arrive as often in this type of place the music is so loud and people are talking that you can't hear yourself think let alone hear your phone ring.

Always trust no one. This may sound a little dramatic but will always keep you safe from harm. Don't allow anyone to buy a drink for you even your friends may have an alterer motive. The drink could be spiked and you will not know until it is too late. There are a lot of nice people in clubs the rule of thumb is always be on your guard.

As a precaution no matter what age you are don't give anyone a note of your hotel room or what hotel you will be staying in as they could wish you harm. Use the same rule when you are leaving at the end of the night don't allow a stranger to walk you home or share a cab with instead stick with friends.
