Tips For Cruise Ships

By Poppy Hill

Planning a cruise trip with your family or partner and are unsure of what to expect on your first ever trip. The following are just a few suggestions to improve your stay.

The cruise ships are all on the big side with many of them carrying sometimes up to three thousand people on board at any one time. As there are decks and you will be unsure where anything is on board a good idea would be to ask the crew member if they have a map of the ship to become accustomed to and become used to all the noise and floors and decks. This may take a couple of days but don't worry as you will learn fast.

A good tip is to bring with you a small bag each with the basic essentials so you can start your holiday as soon as you arrive. Your luggage may take a few hours to arrive at your cabin due to the sheer volume of people on board. Start your adventure now as soon as you are on board.

Leave all your good jewellery behind at home when on the boat. Most of the crew are not wealthy and the last thing you want to do is upset them by flaunting your wealth. Small pieces of costume jewellery perhaps would be more appropriate.

A good tip is to walk everywhere on the cruise ship. The lifts will most certainly become crowded especially around meal times. A good idea would be to walk and become familiar with your surroundings and a walking is good for you as a little gentle exercise.

Often tipping is not included in your holiday cost. When you can tip generously as the crew members often rely on tips to send back home to their families as the pay is low or minimum on the cruises.

Last thing at night passengers are encouraged to move around their quarters or back from any show to be as quiet as they can and keep in mind any passengers who may be sleeping while you are on your way back to your cabin.

Make the most of you holiday by forward planning and taking advantage of the beautiful cities you will be able to visit.
