By Jozy Mozen

If the rat race is getting you down, it may be time to change your life. A great place for starting over and living a more relaxed, healthier lifestyle is Boca Raton Florida. Even if you only want a place to escape to every once in a while, this city may be the answer.

Boca Raton is located in South Florida, just a little north of Miami and on the east coast of the peninsula. West Palm Beach lies to the north lies to the north and Fort Lauderdale to the south. The city is great for a holiday but many of those who visit decide to stay, since here they can live a healthy, active life in the sun.

The climate is typical for South Florida. In other words, it's hot and humid in summer and pleasantly warm and sunny in winter. The summer months experience rain, usually in the form of quick thunderstorms that actually offer welcome relief from the heat. Hurricanes are a risk, though.

For museum lovers, the city offers a children's museum as well as a museum of art. The Sports Immortals Showcase Museum is another interesting place to visit. You'll find the remains of a Native American burial mound within city limits and if you want entertainment with a good dash of culture, catch a performance by the Caldwell Theatre Company.

The greatest reason to spend some time in Boca is the chance to enjoy the outdoors, no matter what time of year you're in the area. You'll find all the usual beach activities and at Red Reef Park you can spend the day picnicking and snorkeling. Red Reef is just one of many parks in this sporty city and most parks have great facilities for active pursuits, whether you want to cycle or shoot some hoops. Golfers will find that they've entered paradise too with the variey of courses on offer. In addition, the ocean offers fishing and sailing.

There is no shortage of places to shop at, from big malls to quaint little shopping centers. Take some time for a relaxing spa treatment and have a meal at one of the city's many restaurants. There's an eatery for you whether you prefer ethnic food or would rather have gourmet seafood dishes. The local restaurants cater for different budgets too. Boca is not known as a party destination and its bars and nightclubs are scattered throughout the city, with a neighborhood feel to them. However, music stars often play at one of the amphitheaters or other live music venues so you won't have to feel that you're missing out.

With many celebrities living here, Boca is quite an affluent city. Real estate varies from apartments and condos to luxury mansions in some of the world's most expensive gated communities. Before you buy, you may want to rent first. There is also a good selection of resorts and hotels for shorter stays.

Like with any big decision, it's a good idea to know what you'll be getting into before you move to Boca Raton. Ensure that the move will make financial sense by checking the job and business opportunities. Spend some time in the city to see whether it agrees with you and then prepare yourself for living the relaxed Boca Raton lifestyle.
