Preparations For The Best Obstacle Course Races

An obstacle course race is a type of race where the participants run through obstacles. There are those which do not only require you to run. There are obstacles where you need to climb, crawl or swing.

Preparing yourself for this is not like preparing for traditional race. The best obstacle course races require serious preparation. There are times when it is not necessary but it is always best to be ready. You must be physically and mentally fit in order to join one. The following are easy routines you can do.

Climbing using ropes might be part of the race. You can train for it by doing push ups. Tie some rope on some tree and practice doing pull ups. Complete a couple of it at first and then as time goes on, complete more and make higher pull ups. Pull up and then lower the body gradually. This will enhance your the strength of your upper body.

There would also be those that require you to climb walls. You can do this easier if you just swing your leg and hook it on top of the wall. After that, use you arms and legs to lift you over the wall. You can practice this if ever you have some wall equipment. Just be sure it is safe.

To be prepared of lifting heavy objects, you can start by lifting smaller objects first and then increase its weight from time to time. Do not quickly lift heavy objects. This will make you become exhausted faster. Repeat this daily and soon you will notice that you can lift heavy objects easier compared to the first day.

To be ready on dragging, you can tie ropes on heavy things and slowly drag this as far as you can drag. Turn and drag it again back to start. Repeat it everyday. During the race, see to it that you wear gloves for protection on your hands. Some people wrap their hand in tape for more protection.

For water obstacles, you should keep notes on your eating habits. You should focus on getting the energy when you need it. Figure out how you convert food to energy as soon as you start training. You could be required to crawl or swim so it is important that you always have the energy.

See to it that you are always hydrated. The body should be hydrated as you continue. This will influence how you would be doing. It is very important for our brain. There could be mind challenges that you have to finish. You can do it if you have attitude and positive thinking.

Participants for this one should be serious enough to prepare themselves. This is something where you need to be fit enough before you join. It may be challenging at first but, after you complete the obstacles, you would really feel great for accomplishing it. This is where you can be serious but still have fun at the same time. It would be worth the effort.
