Tragedies could be happening anywhere and anytime. These disasters might be tsunamis, fires, floods, and typhoons, among others. In most cases, these events are claiming countless human lives and damaging millions, even billions, worth of properties. Even if certain instruments could be detecting the probability of several tragedies, people should be preparing themselves all the time.

National and local governments typically disseminate information on what people should do before, during, and after these calamities. One of them would be to prepare a 3 day survival kit. Individuals should make sure that the following things are present in their kits.

The individuals will have to buy bags where they will put their necessities. They have to make sure that they will buy bags which are durable. This way, all their necessities will remain inside the containers and will not fall off from them. They may also have to buy those that are water proof so that their things will not get wet if ever there are heavy rains or floods.

Usually, clean water might not be provided by evacuation centers. For this matter, clean water will have to be brought so that their thirsts will be quenched while they stay inside these evacuation centers. One gallon a day per person should be brought. Non perishable food should also be stored such as canned goods or noodles. For the former, can openers should also be brought so that these goods can be eaten.

The person should be bringing his cellphone with him for him to be communicating with other people or government agencies about the situation. He should also be keeping extra batteries and a charger for him to be utilizing his cellphone. Apart from that, he should have a transistor radio for him to be aware of important announcements and events. He must have a flashlight in illuminating his way through the night.

They should also have copies of their personal documents. These documents include their birth certificates, identification cards, marriage certificates, insurance policies, passports, and others. These will help the government agencies to identify these people and provide them with whatever help that they may need.

Even if a disaster is happening, he should still be observing cleanliness for him not to be getting sick, especially during a typhoon or flood. He should be carrying stuff for sanitation and personal hygiene, like alcohol, toothbrush, wet wipes, and others. He should also be carrying extra clothes for him to be changing into dry ones if he gets wet from the rain.

They should also put medical supplies in these bags. These supplies may include medicines for headaches, colds, and stomachaches, which are typically common when people stay in evacuation centers. They also need alcohol, band aids, and cotton, in case certain disasters cause them cuts, burns, or wounds.

They also need multi purpose tools that they can utilize to cut or fix something. They should also have maps with them so that they will know where they will go. The families should plan beforehand on where they will meet up in case these disasters separate them. All members should also know the contact details of important government agencies or persons.
