Finding the right place to study is nice. The population in Boynton Beach is about 68,000 and is a city in Florida, Palm Beach County. In 1921 they acquired a well known area for park and recreational purposes from Lewis S. Today it is better known as the Oceanfront Park. A beach casino was built just seven years later and had a large dining room hall with lockers and showers for the many social parties and gatherings.
In 1966 the City Commission approved the facilities on the beach and this was named the Walter A. Madsen Park. This was in appreciation for the Mayor, Vice-Mayor and City Councilman. This park has and still is a very popular place for many to visit whether one is a resident or a tourist. Over the years many renovations have taken place and this included restoring the dining area. The bathrooms and concessions were rebuilt and a boardwalk was laid down.
For those that are shopaholic's a visit to the mall is a must. The mall was built in 1985 and is now owned by Simon Property Group. There used to be a few different fountains with different statues but unfortunately only one now remains and is empty. There is a movie theater which houses 14 screens at the lifestyle center as well as plenty of places one can sit and enjoy different foods.
The Beach set-up consists of 2 lounges with an umbrella or a cabana depending on one's preference and is set up for the day for only $40. When paying by the hour it will cost $10. The single lounges are $10 a day or $3 an hour. All the umbrellas are charged at $15 a day or $5 per hour. Making use of the full set-up will save money and one will be able to enjoy the full day just taking it easy.
The history of this beautiful city started when a former American Civil War major saw the area and fell in love with its natural beauty. There was sunshine all year round and the beaches were untouched. He then went on to build the Boynton Hotel where he and his family spent many winters. It was discovered by the settlers that accompanied Boynton that many different fruits and vegetables thrived in this climate. Mangoes, citrus fruits, tomatoes and pineapples where then packed and shipped across the country. This brought in more revenues that helped to sustain the beginnings of the town.
The normal color is a reddish brown but at times can have a greenish tinge to it. It can be covered with a lapachol powder that is yellow in color and may cause allergies to many people. Unlike many other wood planks this specific one seems to dry very rapidly in the sun but does tend to warp. It is recommended that one always use Anchorseal before making anything with it.
The powder from this tree was used in herbal medicines as it was believed to help with many different conditions. Some of them were used in the treatment of ulcers, diabetes, boils and cancers. Unfortunately it is not used very often as it does have a few toxic side effects.
The place has been voted the best family beach by the The Palm Beach post. Every year these beaches see more and more people flocking to swim and watch the surf. The seas are relatively calm and are scattered with palm trees that provide shade for many.
