Delray Beach Florida Has That Extra Something

By Jony Mozen

Identifying the features of a city that make people feel at home is a tough ask. It is unlikely to get two people to agree exactly on this diverse subject, yet it is clear that some cities certainly have more appeal than others. Delray Beach Florida falls into this category and has increasingly become the preferred choice for many new residents.

Some aspects will always be intangible issues arising from individual feelings and emotions. But certainly physical features such as facilities and infrastructure also play a part. This coastal gem can really hold its own in this department.

In 1910 the number of people living in this area was below one thousand. At present it is slightly above 64000 so clearly there has been growth and for good reason. There are also strong historical groundings from the eighteen hundreds involving Native Americans, and even groups of runaway slaves. Future potential in the area is tangible, and for good reason.

The weather maybe what is particularly attractive for some. Summer temperatures can rise to a glorious degrees whilst in the cooler months temperatures seldom go below fifty five. Naturally such favorable weather makes the regions extensive beaches very popular. Snorkeling, boating, deep sea angling are just some of what attract people. Organized sporting events include an ATP World Tour Event for men now geld every year and of course golf is ever popular.

If more sheltered waterways are preferred then miles of canals and waterside real estate development offer almost endless possibilities for potential home owners, boating enthusiasts as well as those who prefer to watch this world go by with their feet on firm ground. The Intracoastal Waterway allows access by boat to the central business district. A vibrant real estate market allows entry onto the property ladder over a wide range of prices, making it suitable for both first time and established property owners.

The town has a reputation for being fun and happy. Probably many places make similar claims but few can substantiate it. Both the Coastal Living, Rand McNally and USA today have published it amongst 2015 Happiest Seaside Towns in America and Most Fun Small Town respectively.

In terms of sophistication and infrastructure there are outstanding medical, educational and municipal services. Fifty four separate educational institutions and seven major medical facilities. With excellent road, rail links and major airports within easy reach, one could say that there are all the conveniences of a large city without the hassle. Focused and efficient, the town management seem to maintain the right balance between regulation and freedom and maintain high municipal standards.

Of course no Florida town would be complete without an abundance of shops and malls and here residents will not be disappointed. Centers such as Delray Market and The Gardens Mall will provide intensive shopping experiences. A delightful alternative is downtown Atlantic Avenue with its mind boggling number of boutique, jewelry, antique outlets and galleries. Regular festivals, parades and live music provide highlights but for many just taking it easy amongst the bars and clubs is already a highlight.

Many impressions remain regards this place often named the village by the sea. Certainly there is a village type air and sociability about the place. Yet there are also many plus factors of a thriving city worth investigating.
